Making Sardenaira
Puff pastry stars
Simple but delicious, puff pastry stars are excellent Christmas canapés that will delight your guests. To make them, unroll a sheet of puff pastry and spread over the Pesto Rosso Sauce. Cover with the other roll of pastry and use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out little stars.
Transfer the stars to a baking sheet, score the surface with a fork, add some sesame seeds and bake in a hot oven at 370°F for about 15 minutes, until golden brown.
Mini feta, sun-dried tomato and olive skewers
Continuing with our selection of eye-catching Christmas appetizers, how about trying these mini skewers with feta, Sundried Tomatoes in Oil and Taggiasca Olives?
Start by dicing the feta into cubes then take a cocktail stick and thread on a Sundried Tomato, a cube of feta and two Taggiasca Olives. Cut the Crispy Focaccia Biscuits into pieces and place on top of the skewer.
Bread, artichoke spread and goat’s cheese tarts
We finish off our trio of Christmas appetizers with some little bread, Artichoke Spread and goat’s cheese tartlets.
Put the slices of bread in a blender together with the Extra Virgin Olive Oil Delicato and whizz into a crumble. Divide the dough for this Christmas appetizer into 10 tartlet (or muffin) molds.
Create little baskets by pressing with your fingers and cook in a preheated oven at 370°F for about 15 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from the oven and leave to cool. Mix the goat’s cheese with the Artichoke Spread in a bowl. Remove the bread tartlets from the molds and fill with the cream. Finish by decorating with a piece of Artichoke Heart in Oil.
